PULSAR: New EASY Zentangle Tangle

PULSAR: A SUPER EASY new Zentangle Pattern by Pegi Schargel, CZT

The PULSAR tangle is an incredibly simple, versatile, and adaptable Zentangle pattern. It is just waiting for your playful tangling agility and your own artistic creativity.  It begs to be used in many ways including a stand-alone tangle, a ribbon, a ‘flower’, using diamonds or squares instead of orbs, and other tangle enhancers like rounding, etc.

How the PULSAR tangle came to be… I love everything about SPACE. I even saw a Space Shuttle launch! PULSAR grew out of half-listening to a Space podcast and seeing an image of a pulsar, hence the name and the new tangle. Continue on to see the pattern!

Zentangle: B’Twined a new tangle by Pegi Schargel, CZT

I have come up with a new Zentangle Pattern, it is a 3-D, grid based tangle. When I was developing the tangle I never imagined something so simple could “Be so entwined!” I took that phrase and came up with the abbreviation B’Twined for it’s name. It only uses just 2 strokes – a straight line and a parenthesis stroke – yet the resulting tangle looks very complex.

It does take a bit of practice to get it down.  I highly recommend initially practicing  B’Twined with straight lines and drawing it on a huge grid makes it easy to learn and results in a nice lattice pattern tangleation. Once you learn it, then you can switch over to using the parenthesis strokes and you can also reduce it’s size because it scales down quite nicely. So here you go… read on for all the details.

Linda Farmer, CZT from TanglePatterns.com says:

B’Twined is today’s very cool tangle pattern and it’s from CZT Pegi Schargel of Portland, OR. This is her first tangle on the site… B’Twined is one of those 3D “over-under” tangles that are so visually interesting and it’s a super simple tangle to draw.

Soluna Tangle – A New Zentangle Pattern

Soluna is a new tangle by me, Pegi Schargel, CZT. It consists of three easy strokes; orbs (circles), straight-ish lines, and a curved line (arc). Create Soluna in just three very easy steps. The inspiration for this new tangle is an outdoor light called Negron 1 that I saw in an online home improvement catalog. This shows that inspiration for tangle patterns can come from anywhere! Keep reading to see the exact steps…

Zentangle: B’Twined Tips

Be sure to see the overview and step-outs for the B’Twined pattern before reading on…

Here are some Zentangle B’Twined Tips that you may find useful. Most people commenting on the B’Twined tangle say they love it. When creating a piece of art using B’Twined, it is easy to get into the ‘flow’ of the pattern while focusing on the stroke being drawn. To me, this is the Zen of Zentangle. [Read more…]
