Free Art Today! Flood the Streets with Art!
Today I was one of the many artists who participated in the global movement to “Flood the Streets with Art! (part II)” on Black Friday. I created three pieces of Zentangle Inspired Art (ZIA’s) that I placed in public locations in Chehalis, WA late this afternoon and earlier tonight. The idea is to create and offer up original art for people to find and keep for free! Pretty cool huh?
Check out the Flood the Streets with Art! link above and look at the wonderful pieces left around the globe! Finding Free Art sure beats standing in line for the Black Friday Madness Sales! My favorite ATC of the three is shown below along with the three different places I left my ATC’s – a fast food place, a movie theater and a drug store.
The type of fine line art I do is called Zentangle.
Each ZIA takes me about an hour and a half to ink and then shade with graphite pencil. Zentangle art is a non-represational art form that is done without preplanning while maintaining ‘flow’ of the pattern being drawn.
