Beyond Zentangle Basics – Specialized Classes

I offer specialized classes on various Zentangle topics that get you beyond Zentangle basics. Contact me today or call me to get setup with one of these unique classes. If you’re just starting off, check out my Zentangle Basics Class today!

Beyond the Basics – More Tangles

Are you excited to revisit tangles you know in new ways and learn some new tangle patterns too? That’s what this Beyond Basics class is all about.

After taking the Zentangle Basics class you’ll find it hard to wait to take this class where some tangles are reviewed and additional tangles are introduced along with more strings, shading techniques, and online resources. This two hour class is taught by Pegi Schargel, CZT and gives you a broader set of tangles to add to your growing tangle  library. It is suggested that you practice drawing tangles nearly every day and keep a sketchbook or tangle diary. The benefits are amazing! Feel free to bring up to 3 samples your work if you want to share it. Sharing may cause the class to run a half hour longer.

Available Dates & Locations: Checkout the full calendar and buy tickets for a date before it sells out! Class is available upon request. Classes can be given for private parties, corporations, clubs, groups, etc. at your location. One-on-one classes can be done at your home or a quiet coffee shop.

Length: Please allow 2 1/2 hours for the class including time for sharing.

Cost: One-on-one classes are $75 and group rates (3 or more) are $45/person – includes supplies. Nominal travel fees to your location in the greater Portland Oregon or Vancouver Washington region.

Supplies: Includes fresh tiles that will be provided in class. Bring your Zentangle Mini-Kit or any supplies you have with you. Additional supplies are available for purchase in class – including a new Mini-Kit. Arrive a few minutes early to settle in beforehand as the class starts on time.

Prerequisite: Having taken a Zentangle Basics class from any Certified Teacher (or advance permission by the instructor) is required.

Beyond Basics – Shading & Dimension

Do you want to shade your tangles but are a bit apprehensive? Don’t worry… that is totally understandable, after all you just spent time creating your masterpiece and now I want you to cover parts of it with graphite! This class is dedicated to the shading process so you can gain confidence as you learn how to use your pencils and other tools to artistically shade tangles creatively. Explore and develop your own style of shading. Your tangles will pop with dimension and be brought to life. Bring your Zentangle® Mini-kit including the tortillon and also bring along several different grades of pencils with you. Pegi, your CZT (Certified Zentangle Instructor) will demonstrate at least 2H, and 4B pencils and 3 new tangles to experiment with. Soon you will be shading with more confidence.

Available Dates & Locations: Class is available upon request. Contact me online or get me by calling 503-897-9997.

About Me

As a Certified Zentangle Teacher with many years of experience, I have two constant yearnings, the desire to teach this easy to learn art form and the deep need for a personal creative outlet for free artistic expression. I satisfy these needs by creating art nearly daily and sharing my love of Zentangle art by teaching others. Let me show you how fulfilling the Zentangle Method can be. Don't worry, you do not need any art or drawing experience what-so-ever! You'll receive supplies in the mini-kit to get you started.

I've taught Zentangle classes at libraries, colleges, senior centers, religious organizations, local businesses, as well as private group and individual classes. To take a class in the Portland Oregon, please contact me for more information or to arrange for a class. I also sell Zentangle Art Supplies!
